Students

• Students don't need an account, a login or an email address to use Daily Spelling.
• We never ask students for their name, age, school or any other personal information.
• When a student types a spelling on the practice card or the weekly test, it's checked in their own browser. It isn't saved and isn't sent to us or anyone else.
• There's no chat, no comments and no way for students to contact other users.

Teachers and parents

If you sign up for the email, we store your email address and whether you chose the daily word or the weekly list. We use it only to send those emails and, rarely, an important note about the service. The sign-up is intended for adults; we don't knowingly collect email addresses from children. If you think a student has signed up, write to us and we'll remove the address.

We use an email delivery provider to send messages on our behalf. They process your address only for that purpose. We never sell or rent your address, or share it for advertising.

No ads, no tracking

Daily Spelling shows no advertising and uses no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Fonts and pronunciation

Our typefaces are served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google's servers. The “Hear it” buttons use the speech feature built into your browser or device; we don't receive any audio.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address for as long as you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we remove it from our mailing list, keeping only what's needed to make sure you aren't emailed again.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can also ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to hello@dailyspelling.site.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll let subscribers know by email.
